Tic-tac-time

Preparation: Make a copy of the Tic-tac-time Tasksheet (see below) for each pair of students.

Procedure: Students work in pairs. If your students are not familiar with tic-tac-toe (noughts and crosses), teach them how to play: One student is "O." The other is "X." They take turns writing their respective letters in a 3 x 3 grid. The first player to get three in a row, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally is the winner. In tic-tac-time, students play like tic-tac-toe. However, for each square they must say a true sentence about themselves. The sentence must include the word(s) in the square. The first player to get three in a row wins. They then go on to the next game.
